On Friday, October 18, Fortuna Middle School was excited to welcome renowned nonfiction author Kelly Milner Halls as part of the Humboldt County Author Festival. 📚
Known for engaging books on everything from mysterious creatures to scientific phenomena, Halls shared her love for exploring the unknown with students in two assemblies—one for 7th grade and one for 8th grade.
Among her many fascinating books is one about Bigfoot, a creature Halls herself believes in—though she admits that wasn’t always the case! Her book In Search of Sasquatch and others, like Cryptid Creature Field Guide and Tales of the Cryptids, have captivated young readers with their deep dives into cryptids and other mysterious topics.
Thank you to our amazing cafeteria cooks for hosting a delicious baked potato bar lunch!
Kelly's visit left a lasting impression on our students!
